As a soldier in the U.S. military and as a police officer for 23 years, I swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, even with my life if necessary. Today, as an attorney, I continue the work of protecting people’s Constitutional rights.
New Jersey tax rates on property are the highest in the Nation. This situation is intolerable. However, none of the candidates have addressed the most significant reason for our tax rate increases. I have. Yet the major media continues to ignore what I have said, and what most people are in agreement with. Our taxes are going up, and will continue to do so, because our Congressmen have passed disasterous trade policies that are stripping away our manufacturing and industrial base. Our jobs are now in other countries with the blessings of Wall Street and Washington. Therefore, our tax base is eroded. The better paying jobs are gone. I have made press releases, that I would compel the New Jersey Congressional delegation to report to a joint session of our State Assembly and Senate in Trenton to explain themselves, and to reverse these policies. If they do not, I will petition the citizens of New Jersey to have them recalled and replaced by patriotic citizens. The well being of our State economic infrastructure has become a state's rights issue. The federal policies of Washington are undermining the functioning of state government. I have presented this press release to all major newspapers in New Jersey and I am waiting for the coverage of the issue. I am the only candidate to date to be raising this issue.
The most horrific incident in most of our lives as American citizens occurred on September 11, 2001. Co-chairman Thomas Kean of the 911 Commission stated that the Commission was set up to fail. He was given no subpoena power by the federal government, little money and rushed. New Jersey had a significant connection to the event. 700 New Jersey citizens were among the almost 3,000 people killed. The Twin Towers were property of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Two of the airliners were hijacked out of Newark airport; and the anthrax attacks were connected to Princeton and Hamilton, New Jersey.
As your Governor, I will convene a new 911 Commission for the purpose of performing an objective,thorough and complete investigation.
Our Founding Fathers fervently believed that government should serve the needs of the people. But in New Jersey, we have been betrayed by self-serving politicians and powerful commercial interests.
.As your Governor, I will vigilantly defend our rights. I seek to empower the middle class and protect our standard of living.
